The North Carolina Tar Heels currently have three players in the 2025 recruiting class, headlined by five-star forward Caleb Wilson. With four commits also coming in through the transfer portal, UNC’s roster is getting some much-needed additions.

And they may not be done just yet.

With Darius Adams decommitting from UConn over the weekend, his recruitment is back open and per a report, the Tar Heels have been in contact. Grant Hughes of 247Sports wrote on Adams’ recruitment based on Travis Branham’s podcast, as he listed a few teams that are involved:

Several of the nation’s top programs — Tennessee, UNC, Maryland, Indiana and Alabama — are showing interest.

“Since Adams has reopened his recruitment, he’s already heard from nearly 15 schools,” Branham said, via the “College Basketball Show” on Tuesday. “That comes as no surprise. He’s a McDonald’s All-American and one of the top high school players in the country. Tennessee is one of the schools that is showing interest and could really pick up some steam with Adams. Tennessee recruited him heavily out of high school. They finished in his finalists. Tennessee missed out on Rodney Rice. I’ve also been told that North Carolina has shown interest, as has Maryland, Indiana and Alabama, among others. While this is open, I am told that this thing can move fairly quickly.”

North Carolina has the room to add the talented recruit and with a need at the guard position, Adams would make sense. Seth Trimble is back for another year and UNC did bring in Kyran Evans. They also have Isaiah Denis and Derek Dixon coming in on the wing as well.

The 6-foot-5, 165-pound Adams hails from Indiana and ranks No. 26 overall prospect and No. 4 combo guard in the class of 2025 per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
