Another UNC basketball schedule leak has been revealed!

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported that North Carolina and Georgetown have agreed to a home-and-home series, beginning this upcoming season. The first of two games will be held in Chapel Hill, with the date of the contest still to be determined.

We all know what happened in the 1982 national championship game, but since, the Tar Heels haven’t had much success against the Hoyas.

Since 1999, North Carolina and Georgetown have met on three separate occasions, with Georgetown winning two of the three meetings (including the two most recent matchups).

During the 2007 NCAA Tournament, the No. 2-seeded Hoyas defeated North Carolina 96-84 in overtime in the NCAA East Region Final.

Tyler Hansbrough led the way for North Carolina with 26 points and 11 rebounds while three other Tar Heels scored in double figures.

Jeff Green led the way for Georgetown with 22 points, while DaJuan Summers added 20 points of his own in the victory.

With more flexibility in the non-conference schedule due to a shortened conference slate, North Carolina is capitalizing on additional opportunities to compete against non-conference foes.

The Tar Heels are projected to play the majority of their 2025-2026 non-conference schedule at home, as this reported contest will also give the Tar Heels home court advantage to kick-off this home-and-home series.
