The recruiting periods are back open and heating up as coaches are able to watch prospects in the Summer circuit.
And North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis wasted no time watching a few targets. On Friday, Davis was one of a few coaches watching teammates CJ Rosser and King Gibson of the 2027 recruiting class. Joining Davis was Kentucky’s Mark Pope and Houston’s Kelvin Sampson among others.
The duo were playing at the Nike EYBL event in Memphis, Tennessee this weekend as the AAU circuit picks up steam.
Rosser is a prospect that North Carolina has had their eyes on for a while now. The Rocky Mount, North Carolina native is among the top players in the country, ranking No. 2 overall in the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He’s become a priority recruit for the Tar Heels being that he’s an in-state kid.
As for Gibson, he’s a Burlington, North Carolina native who currently plays at Montverde Academy in Florida. He’s ranked No. 15 overall in the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
