MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies are once again announcing honors for one of their top talents.
The team’s forward, Jaren Jackson Jr., was named to the 2024-25 NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
This marks Jackson Jr’s third career All-Defensive selection and third in the last four seasons after earning First Team honors during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. Jackson Jr. received 107 points from a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.
Jackson Jr. added to his spectacular season as he ranked fifth in the NBA in total blocks with 113 and seventh in blocks per game at 1.5.
He also recorded single-season career highs for total steals with 92 throughout the season and steals per game at 1.2 in over 74 games in his seventh NBA season.
The 25-year-old was the only player in the league this season to average at least two blocks and two steals per 48 minutes
Selected by Memphis with the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Michigan State, Jackson Jr. has appeared in 407 games for the Grizzlies, where he averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 blocks in 28.6 minutes.
The Indiana native made his second career All-Star appearance this season and was named the 2022-23 NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
This comes after Grizzlies Rookies Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells were selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team just two days prior.
