Kawhi Leonard

The NBA announced major Kawhi Leonard news on Monday, as the Los Angeles Clippers forward was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for Week 24 of the 2024-25 season.

Leonard averaged 24.5 points, 5.8 rebounds 2.5 assists for the Clippers last week in four games against the Orlando Magic, New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks.

Los Angeles played Dallas twice last week. The Clippers went 4-0 in Week 24 of the season. A two-time Finals MVP, Leonard has appeared in 34 games for the Clippers this season.

He’s averaging 21.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 49.6% from the field, 40.5% from beyond the arc and 80.6% from the free-throw line.

The Clippers are 46-32. They are in fifth place in the Western Conference standings. If the regular season ended today, Los Angeles would face the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs. Leonard has only appeared in four postseason games for the Clippers in the last two years.

He had swelling in his right knee in the 2024 playoffs and tore his right meniscus in the 2023 playoffs. A future Hall of Famer, Leonard tore his right ACL in the 2021 playoffs.

If Leonard can stay healthy for the Clippers in this year’s postseason, the team could make some serious noise in the West. Leonard, 33, has career playoff averages of 21.3 points in 139 games with the San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Clippers.
