Phil Ford was 1978 National Player of the Year, three-time first-team All-America, ACC Player of the Year, two-time ACC Athlete of the year, Patterson medal winner, College Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, member of the ACC 50th Anniversary team, and his No. 12 is retired by UNC.
