Former North Carolina guard Drake Powell is looking to endear himself to NBA teams throughout the 2025 NBA Draft process.

He declared for the league after spending just one season in Chapel Hill, and he’ll have to showcase his athleticism to rise up the boards in the next month and change.

Well, he’s off to a great start. Powell showed off an incredible 43-inch max vertical leap on Tuesday at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine.

That puts him among the best to participate in the event in recent memory, and atop the leaderboard at the moment this year, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.

Drake Powell jumps a 42 1/2 and then a monster 43 inch max vertical leap, tops by a wide margin so far at the NBA draft combine and an impressive mark historically.
All told, Powell will be hoping to make good on his immense potential in the NBA.

He arrived at UNC as a five-star prospect out of Northwood (Pittsboro, NC). He was the No. 13 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
